I have been driving Honda WRV petrol as per standard driving method. In the city where traffic is more it gives only 7.7 kmpl with 30% time on third gear, 50% of time on 2nd gear and 20% either idle (in signals) or 1st gear with AC on @25 degC. Honda service says this city mileage is normal. I feel strange. I do not know what to do. But on highways usually i drive more than 60km/hr mostly on top gear it gives 16.6 kmpl.

In order to improve the mileage, we would suggest you drive slower. Driving fast can reduce your fuel efficiency by up to 33% if you are traveling above 60 km. It is best to change gears appropriately and match the gear and the RPM carefully.
