Q. How was the 4 speed automatic transmission performance in the older petrol model. Is the cruse rpm higher than the manual transmision for maintaining same speed - Ciaz?

The 4-speed automatic is just basic in nature and although it does the job satisfactorily in the City, it cannot match of the Rivals like Honda City CVT. In the city, Ciaz automatic performs good but yes one has to be very gentle with the throttle inputs otherwise the engine revs to the higher RPMs before making an upshift which in fact doesn't sound pleasing.

Gears ratio is tuned nicely, but can not perform like 6 speed AT gearbox .rpm might be on higher side in AT
