• Q. I got to know that there is a lot of manufacturing issues like reverse, pickup, acceleration and steering with Amaze 2018. Is it correct? How is your experience with this vehicle? I'm planning to buy Amaze petrol CVT. Please suggest.

I owe Honda Amaze 2018 Diesel CVT (Automatic), my overall experience with the car seemed moderately smooth until mid of 2019 when I started experiencing some severe problems which seem to be linked with the transmission After turning the starting the engine and shifting the gear from Parking to Drive or Reverse Mode engine would generate heavy acceleration without even pressing the accelerator and for stopping it either you turn off the engine or immediately shift the gear back to Parking. This problem is very peculiar in nature as it would not occur all the time hence becomes very dangerous and unpredictable. Honda Company did not take the problem very aggressively or seriously rather explained it as Belt Change Over J**k which never seemed like one to me at all. (Small Jerks in an automatic transmission are acceptable however sudden surge in acceleration (Which Honda calling a JERK) is life-threatening)Luckily, The same problem occurred at Honda agency and experienced by more than two technicians based on which my case was escalated with HONDA company however I was explained that this is a normal phenomenon and will occur life-long as it had no clutch and due to high power torque you will have to bear with it. Previously, I have also been told to wait for five seconds after each start to let the engine settled to avoid such acceleration surges which I have never heard from anyone driving an automatic in my entire life span. I am not sure about the future of my car or if this problem would get resolved at all unfortunately the frequency of the fault since its first occurrence has increased and got intensify. I don't know about other models of Honda using CVT technology but my experience with CVT Diesel Amaze 2018 is very stressful and depressing.

Don't Buy Honda amaze, yes it has steering problem. I have recently purchased Honda Amaze CVT VX (Top model) 2023 . It is only one week that I have purchased Honda Amaze. In my first drive only, I was narrow escaped of a serious accident because of its faulty steering problem. It's steering doesn't come back to the centre/netural position. I have visited service centre if the company today. They were trying to make me fool that steering of a car doesn't comes back to centre. When I told them that it is not my first car, I already owns two other cars too and have experienced many others too, they were speachless. They have admitted that the steering of Amaze doesn't come back to the centre/ netural position but they refused to accept it as a defect of Amaze. So don't buy Honda amaze. Even in 2023 it has its steering problem.

Ride-comfort is premium level. CVT is making driving a pleasure.. space for such segment is really good.. both city and long drives will make you feel good... very low maintenance cost even competitive one... milage honestly on hard city drives 12 to 13 kms per litre consistently.. its a real sedan feel to have this car... if your budget is 8.5 to 9.5, its best choice... And if any shortage is insisted to be expressed... hmmmm... we can say, when overtaking another vehicles unexpectedly, the immediate surge in power of engine won't be that much as of a gear car.... but it can be compromised in favour of all other good factors...
