Q. I want to buy an established brand car in In India like Skoda. Particularly Skoda Octavia high end. I am speculative about the car maintenance cost and mileage and resale value. Please help me to decide. Thanks!

Once you buy a car priced upwards of 25 lakhs, be prepared to spend 30-40k for annual servicing! If you use the car judiciously and with care, no major issues will crop up . Mileage should not be a concern if you are buying a diesel version. Resale value of all high end cars is bad! If you buy it, you should hang on to it for 5-8 years and should drive atleast 10-12k kms. every year! Then only you will get back it's worth over the years!

Skoda has improved over a lot on machine & experience and plus there is a maintenance package from Skoda that takes out all the worries
