Maruti S-Cross is available with a 1.5-litre petrol engine that can be had with either a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 4-speed torque converter. As for the variants, we would suggest you to go with the S-Cross Zeta variant if you are not on a limited budget. The S-Cross is a very capable city car and offers a spacious cabin, brilliant ride quality and a fuel-efficient petrol engine. On the other hand, the XUV300 utilises a 1.5-litre diesel engine with mechanical upgrades to meet BS6 emission norms. The XUV300 BS6 diesel is offered with a 6-speed manual and 6-speed AMT options. Selecting the right fuel type depends on your utility and the average running of the car. If you drive less than 50km in a day then we recommend you to go with a petrol car as they are easy to maintain, have a longer life span and they cost less initially than the diesel car. On the other hand, diesel cars are preferred if the average daily run is more than 50km which makes it a feasible purchase. Moreover, we would suggest you to take a test ride before making the final decision. Follow the link and select your desired city for dealership details.Read More: - Mahindra XUV 300 vs Maruti S Cross
