Different versions of every vehicle have different servicing cycles or requirements. Read the maintenance schedule of your car manual and find out what actually is required for it. Delay of about 1-2 is fine however that too depends on the use. If it\'s not being used much then delay of even 2-3 months is fine however if it\'s in extensive running then it should not be delayed. If you want to delay due to expenses then get the car serviced at some local place and then get it serviced at authorised service centre on next service. I always recommend authorised service centres but you should keep the check. I get serviced in six months when the advised service becomes due in every three months. But in between I keep checking the oils and filters etc. I have now started to get local service on 3-4 months and then get it serviced from authorised service centres. If not taken care of the engine and other parts, they may get damaged. Mileage and performance Will go down. At least get it's checkup regularly.

It all depends on the usage of your vehicle, if there has been a delay in the service and you go for a long drive...you may end up with a low mileage as well as wear and tear of your engine would be more if the Engine oil life is almost over....

Engine oil is the top most essential thing for an automobile. Servicing without oil change is no problem if delayed. But, if the oil change is not done in time, the engine life deteriorates and simultaneously its performance goes down. In servicing, all essential things like brake fluid, engine coolant, water, grease are checked and changed or filled. If these things are not done in time, vehicle's condition will deteriorate along with performance.
