I have an old 2011 model SX4 ZXi that has the same 4-speed torque converter. Since the SX4 has a bigger engine (1.6L against 1.5L of XL6) and also the state of tune of SX4’s engine is sporty, so to me this torque converter’s performance in XL6 appears sluggish. However, there is an override button in XL6 to disable the overdrive gear, and as soon as you engage it to downshift, the engine performance is peppy. The obvious downside is poor fuel efficiency.

I have the alpha automatic XL6 and i have installed the free flow exhaust from Automech exhausts Parel. This has made a big difference to the pickup and the the average. You can get the contacts of Automech exhausts on Googleif you drive like a gentleman you get 12 kmpl in city and 16 to 18 on highway. and of course if you drive like a college enthusiastic student the numbers would drop down .

You will take time to get used to it, mainly for the overtakings. The shift is smooth and it does its job being a 4speed converter
