Q. Which car is better- automatic or manual?
26.8K Views Follow Question Add Answer140 AnswersPradipta | 4 years agoBasically in a manual transmission it depends on the driver , full control I with the driver and manual transmission is always reliable and for spprty and thrilling experience manual is awesome . Mileage to goes good with manual transmission . But in automatic transmission it becomes boring Just press the accelerator and the car is going on its own ,the driver has just no control over the car , automatic transmission is a bit moddy If you go on a long drive then I would prefer manual transmission and also for thrilling experience
Zeeshan | 4 years agoAutomatic cars only benefit you if you often go for long drives(>100 km) and that too 4 or 5 times a month. Also automatic car is better for old aged and handicaped people.Since automatic cars have a higher price than the manual onea therefore it is just a wastage of money.Manual gearbox is way too better in performance espacially of you are driving on terrans and hilly roads.S
Updates | 5 years agoManual has manual mood... automatic is however a moody car.. you cannot make a control over pickup amd pressure in automatic car. For sporty and thrilling drive you cannot choose automatic car. But it is good in traffic conditions in city. As it is easier to drive during rush hours.
Jo | 5 years agoManual is always better. But if it is a CVT 7 speed as in a volkswagon with dsg gearbox and manual tiptronic nothing like that.amt and ags are not better performers.CVT in s Toyota or Camry is confusing.merc has a 9 speed automatic which is also nice
Rishi | 4 years agoIt completely depends upon you on which type of vehicle you will be comfortable to drive. for me, Manual is the best as if a person knows how to drive a car which is based on manual transmission, he can drive any kind of a car
Madhav | 4 years agoI would suggest to go for manual. In traffic AM, AT or CVT are much better compared to Manual. I personally prefer Manual. There are 3-4 options available AT, Atomatic, CVT. All are good.... with added money
Abir | 5 years agoI also have the same question in my mind. So I did some research on it and also asked few person who have automobile knowledge... as per that nowadays Automatic transmission are much much better... Maruti and Hyundai both using some machinery which is low maintenance and high performance. I gathered my knowledge after buying my car otherwise I would also bought a AMT version
Meharban | 4 years agoThat's purely depends on your usage. City dirvign bumper to bumper traffic buy auto. Now dayas AMT is also available with affordable price if usage is 4-5 km every day then go for Manual transmission
Himanshu | 4 years agoAutomatic if you want to go easy on yourself when you have to face bumper to bumper traffic on your daily commute , else manual car should not be a problem also manual offers more engaging drive.
Jaskirat | 4 years agoIn india automatic comes in high end cars priced above 10 lac , the automatic transmission in cars below 10 lac is not ATM transmission it's , really poor quality . so my choice depends on my budget .
Yogi Ahir | 5 years agoThe automatic is always hassle free, easy to drive, but drills a hole in your pockets for mileage. The manual gives better economy than the automatic, and a manual can be easy to maintain.
CHIRAGG | 5 years agoAutomatic may prove to be good if you travel in heavy traffic areas but manual may be good if you love to drive in a sporty manner and manual will be good for long drives
Rohan | 4 years agoManual is more better than automatic because you won't be able to know when to change the gears when to not... it's like a car Scuty...u should always go for manual... driving a manual car is like gaining much experience than automatic
Dipendra | 4 years agoFun to drive is manual variants but if you live in metropolitan cities and hav to face lot of traffic then go for automatic as its reliable in bumper to bumper traffic and doesnt harm your clutch plate or any other parts.
Balakrishnan | 5 years agoIt depends on your requirement. If you are comfortable with changing gears, manual is for you. If you fumble while changing gears go for automatic.
Mayank | 5 years agoDepends upon your driving needs. If you drive in extreme congested conditions then go for the automatic. Else go for the manual.
Estudio | 5 years agoI dependsIf you want to be furious driving then manual. If you want to ride normally like no power in car then auto.
Roy | 5 years agoDepends on your daily usage. If you drive more than 50 kms every day, go for diesel. If under that go for petrol.
Yashwardhan | 6 years agoIt's simple . If you like to drive and want to have some amazing driving fun, then ofcourse go for a manual. but if you just want to go from point A to point B , then surely go with an automatic.
Parshuram | 6 years agoBoth systems are good depending on it`s need. In big cities that are hugely crowded, automatic transmission is convenient but in other areas, manual system works better. p.gautampurkar
