Q. Which engine option between the petrol & diesel is more fuel efficient and delivers better pulling power - Thar 2020 - Thar 2020?

The 2020 Mahindra Thar gets two engine options - a 130PS/300Nm 2.2-litre diesel engine and a 150PS/320Nm 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine. Since the petrol unit is a turbocharged one, the power figures are higher for it than that of diesel. Moreover, the fuel efficiency figures aren't out for the Thar yet so we'll have to wait for that. Also, Selecting the right fuel type depends on your average running of the car. If you drive less then 50km in a day then we recommend you to go with a petrol car as they are easy to maintain, have a longer life span and they cost less initially then the diesel car. On the other hand, diesel cars are preferred if the average daily run is more than 50km which makes it feasible purchase.
