Q. Which is best, Petrol or diesel in Swift?
11.6K Views Follow Question Add Answer166 AnswersTilak | 5 years agoI depends on person to person as some people love torque and some love performance both are equally good but if your running is minimal 25+ km/day then go diesel less than 20 km/day or use car 2 3 days in a week then go for petrol as it cost you almost 1.5 + lesser and after driving 50 k to 60k km you would spend 3 lakhs on fuel and services cost of petrol engine is also less do some math spend some time and calculate which is cheaper and more economical go for that and don't spend more money than required you can use the spare money some were else it is precious and rest is your choice
Balakrishnan | 4 years agoFor petrol lovers, None can break their trust in petrol cars, even though electric cars & CNG cars are the future. For those addicted to Diesel torque like me, will settle for nothing less than a Diesel. Both swift petrol & Diesel are good enough, but as a thumb rule, if you drive more than 50 km a day or 15,000 to 20,000 km per year, if you carry full load of passengers or heavy luggage, use full blast of AC all the time, go for diesel swift.
Abhijit | 5 years agoIt depends on the driving patterns & average daily distance traveled. A thumb rule is, annual travelling of over 15,000 km is economical to buy a Diesel car. However, as price of diesel & petrol now are very close, its better to go for a Petrol version for lesser environmental pollution as well as good engine life.
Updates | 5 years agoDiesel is always a better choice. But it also has some negative points.1. Car makes more noisa as compared to petrol version.2. Cost of purchasing diesel version is higher. But this high cost is managed if you use it for daily commutation. Atleast 50km, 5days in a week, for atleast 2 years.
Akhil | 4 years agoBuy petrol. It has better perfomamce. Also, it is the more economically sensible option if if the car is not be driven on a daily basis. According to the ongoing Trend the petrol Swift will certainly give you a better resale value.
Jo | 5 years agoIt was diesel till recently powerful turbocharged fun to ride.petrol is having new series engine which I'd also good. But diesel is the choice mileage fun to ride great!!! resale value. unless bs6 makes dome cut it will stay .
AryanSingh | 4 years agoRefinement of petrol is fantastic, but the pickup of Diesel is fantastic. I would recommend going for Petrol. Because diesel is soon going to be discontinued after BSVI compliance becomes mandatory.
Abu | 4 years agoDiesel variant is better than petrol, however Maruti has stopped diesel engines in BS 6 era and only offering petrol ones.If you need diesel powered car, you have to go for a second hand option.
Jo | 5 years agoDiesel for its turbo charged engine with great mileage and excellant resale value!!!!.petrol lacks the punch. unless some bs6 restrictions come on it's way it will stay for long.
Updates | 5 years agoDiesel has better pickup, better mileage. Infact maruti swift is best in case of mileage. Tell me if you find any other car with better mileage on indian roads...
Roy | 5 years agoPetrol engine is smoother, quieter & a pleasure to drive. If you drive more than 50 kms every day, diesel is worth it. If less than 50, petrol is best.
Vishesh | 5 years agoPreference depends on your daily usage not on the fuel type.Earlier 50kms daily average was the norm now with no gap in prices this has shot to 70 kms daily average.I have seen many people preferring for petrol who are driving on highways regularly
NadeemKhan | 5 years agoPetrol, the power unit of petrol version is mindblowing, the refinedmnt level of engine is super smooth, gear box is supersmooth,
Ashish | 4 years agoBoth engines in the Swift are good. It all depends on your requirement, for daily commute in the city go for petrol, otherwise diesel.
Akhilesh | 4 years agoGood condition best mileage car daily travel so plz help me to purchase the car What are the dimensions of the car? How is the fuel economy…
Meharban | 4 years agoDepends on your usage. If you are driving about 40 km then petrol driving is more or 60+ them diesel is best option
Kiran | 4 years agoPetrol is good due less maintenance .if you using your car daily more than 50km then diesel car is good choice
Cheetah | 3 years agoSwift diesel is discontinued also the light chasis and platform is not suitable for heavier diesel engine in long run.
Satish | 4 years agoIf your car run more than 150km per day than you must go for Diesel and if less than you must prefer petrol.
Rajdeep | 5 years agoIf you are going to drive more than 15000-20000 Kms/year than go for a diesel one or else go for Petrol. I have a petrol one because in 4 years only drove about 10,000 Kms.
Satyanarayan | 5 years agoPetrol for personal short and light running, diesel for heavy and multiple use...
Paritosh | 1 year agoDiesel because mileage is very good and the torque in diesel is far better then petrol because the diesel engine is turbocharged which comes in swift in diesel model
Amitabh | 5 years agoIt depends on you how much you drive. Diesel cars have maintenance cost.
Shan | 5 years agoDiesel is best... Out standing performance and good fuel efficiency...
Sarfaraz | 3 years agoDepend upon your use ,but currently only petrol variant available only new
