Verna 2018 top end models are offered in 1.6 ltr petrol and diesel variants in automatic transmission . The AT version is best suited for city drives . It is totally effortless drive . Claimed mileage in diesel is about 24kmpl but in actual conditions you will get in averaged out in very ong drives to be 17-21kmpl. In city conditions may vary averaged out 10-13kmpl. The both manual and auto variants are offered with 6 speed transmission with Gear box . The longer you drive in gear position 5&6 with speeds above 60+ with no breaking may give higher specific fuel efficiency . Similarly petrol AT may give you max 15kmpl and normal city drive vary between 9-12 kmpl.

Both are equally good. AT gives you convenience during heavy traffic. Manual gives marginally better mileage. So choose AT if city driving is causing you strain. Else, go for manual.
