Among the two cars, Rapid has a larger engine and has better torque characteristics than City. Power figures declared for Rapid don't do justice for the car as the engine is homologated at 5200 rpm against 6600 rpm for City. Actually it has almost a flat torque curve 140+ Nm for speeds above 3000 rpm. It's a refined engine with very good pulling power. When doing highway driving, you'll never really feel that Rapid is running out of power. So my vote goes to Rapids engine. My car returns impressive 18-19 kmpl on long drives. But at the same time, City's smaller engine engine is more rev happy and more silent too. So choice becomes subjective from this angle.

If petrol anytime Honda city..just get more wider tyre if possible. as it looks very slim. so don't feel grippy.

Ivtec engine can't be beat by any other engine. Honda City is god of mid size sedans.
