Mahindra XEV 7e production-spec leaked online.
It will be showcased at the Auto Expo 2025.
It will follow the XEV 9e in the same Mahindra sub-brand with many resemblances and similar features.
Inside it gets a white/black cabin theme, a panoramic sunroof and a triple-screen setup like the 9e.
Will likely carry the same 59 kWh and 79 kWh battery packs with a dual motor setup and all-wheel drive option.
Prices can start from somewhere around Rs 20.9 lakh (ex-showroom).
The popular Mahindra XUV700 is gearing up for an all-electric transformation, capitalizing on the growing demand for eco-friendly vehicles in the Indian market. The production-spec design of the XUV 700EV, dubbed the XEV 7e, was earlier shown as the XUV.e8 concept and has now been revealed leaked via some presentation slides of an event. If you’re an XUV700 fan considering an electric upgrade or an enthusiast seeking a detailed look at this much-anticipated EV, here are the five key highlights you need to know about the car.
At the front, the XEV 7e features a sleek connected light bar, inverted L-shaped LED DRLs, and vertically stacked headlights with fog lamps in a V-shaped housing. The blanked-off grille matches the body colour and has parallel lines, similar to the XEV 9e.
From the side, the XEV 7e has a traditional SUV roofline, resembling the XUV700. It includes roof rails and flush door handles but stands out with blacked-out side mirrors and a cleaner look, dropping the thick cladding and wheel arches for a more refined appearance. It also has unique alloy wheels with aero covers for better distinction.
At the back, the XEV 7e gets wraparound taillights like the XUV700, rather than the slim connected lights seen on the XEV 9e.
The infinity Mahindra logo is present on both ends of the car. At the front, it’s positioned on the grille, likely illuminated, instead of on the bonnet.
The XEV 7e’s interior takes inspiration from the XEV 9e, featuring a two-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated logo and a sleek triple-screen dashboard. The centre console has piano black accents, giving it a premium feel.
The cabin uses Mahindra’s signature Ivory White theme, complemented by grey highlights, a design element also seen in the XEV 9e. The XEV 7e will offer three-row seating options, including a 6-seater layout with captain seats and dedicated armrests. A 7-seater version with bench seating is also expected, likely including a second-row armrest with cupholders.
In terms of features, the XEV 7e is likely to inherit advanced tech from its electric siblings, including a 43-inch triple-screen setup for infotainment, instrument cluster, and passenger entertainment. Other highlights may include wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a wireless phone charger, a panoramic sunroof, a 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, multi-colour ambient lighting and connected car features.
For safety, it is expected to offer multiple airbags, electronic stability control, hill-hold assist, a 360-degree camera with parking sensors, and level-2 ADAS for enhanced driver assistance.
The XEV 7e is expected to feature a dual-motor setup with an all-wheel-drive system. Built on Mahindra’s INGLO platform, it may also offer two battery options–59 kWh and 79 kWh – similar to the XEV 9e and the BE 6. The estimated driving range could go up to 650 km, depending on the variant.
The XEV 7e is expected to be showcased at the Auto Expo 2025 starting on January 17 and will be launched with its full prices sometime later this year. It’s expected to be priced at Rs 20.9 lakh (ex-showroom). Once launched, it will compete with the upcoming Tata Safari EV and be a three-row alternative to the XEV 9e.
The XEV 7e is poised to bring a new dynamism to the family EV segment with its modern design and a wholesome set of features. What is your take on the electric XUV700? Let us know in the comments!
