Manufacturers always declare the kerb weight of a vehicle for various reasons such as power to weight ratio or fuel economy. But what does kerb weight mean? Read on to know more

Kerb weight is the weight of a vehicle which has been fitted with all of its standard equipment, mechanical components and body panels. All the necessary operating consumables like engine oil, coolant, brake oil and other fluids have been topped up along with a full tank of fuel.

The weight of a vehicle with passengers and luggage in it is termed as the gross weight of a vehicle and not the kerb weight.
