Maruti Suzuki has updated the CNG variants of the S-Presso with the new Dual Jet petrol engine that was introduced recently. This powertrain is now limited to the LXI and VXI trim levels, and promises to return better fuel efficiency than the older model.
Take a look at the variant-wise prices:
Variants |
Petrol-only |
CNG |
Premium |
LXI |
Rs 4.95 lakh |
Rs 5.9 lakh |
Rs 95,000 |
VXI |
Rs 5.15 lakh |
Rs 6.1 lakh |
Rs 95,000 |
The updated cross-hatch is powered by the new 1-litre Dual Jet three-pot motor developing 57PS and 82Nm in CNG mode, 2PS down from before. On the flip side, it now returns 32.73km/kg, which is 1.43km/kg more than before. Like before, the S-Presso CNG is offered only with a five-speed manual, with the AMT being limited to the petrol-only variants.

Since the CNG variant is limited to the one-below-top VXI+ variant, you don't get kit like a touchscreen infotainment system. However, it still gets a Bluetooth-ready music system, manual air-con, front power windows, dual airbags and rear parking sensors.
The S-Presso CNG doesn’t have any direct rivals in the country and the cars that come closest are the Wagon R CNG from Maruti’s own stable, as well as the entry-level trim of the Tata Tiago CNG.
