Hyryder CNG is offered in the mid-spec G and S trim levels.
CNG is exclusively available with the base-spec, 1.5-litre, non-hybrid petrol engine with a manual gearbox.
The CNG variants get a nine-inch touchscreen, LED headlights, cruise control and up to six airbags.
Available to book now at the Toyota website or at authorised dealerships.
The Toyota Hyryder has been launched with new CNG variants, becoming only the second compact SUV in India to offer factory-fitted CNG, other than its Maruti Grand Vitara platform cousin. The Hyryder CNG is available to book now in mid-spec trim levels, exclusively with the Suzuki-sourced petrol engine and manual gearbox.
In India, the Hyryder is available in E, S, G and V trim levels. The CNG kit is limited to the S and G variants, and the prices are as follows:
Trim level |
Toyota Hyryder CNG |
Toyota Hyryder petrol |
Difference |
S |
Rs 13.23 lakh |
Rs 12.28 lakh |
Rs 95,000 |
G |
Rs 15.29 lakh |
Rs 14.34 lakh |
Rs 95,000 |
*All prices ex-showroom pan-India
You’ll have to pay a premium of Rs 95,000 to get the Hyryder CNG over its respective petrol-only counterparts. This difference is comparable with the Grand Vitara's CNG variants, but the Maruti SUV has a lower starting price of Rs 12.85 lakh.
For the Hyryder’s full price list for the non-CNG variants, check out our story below:
The Hyryder CNG is powered by a Suzuki-sourced, 1.5-litre, K15C petrol engine making 103PS and 136Nm, paired with a five-speed manual transmission. The power is tuned down to 88PS and 121.5Nm in CNG mode. The already frugal powertrain returns up to 26.6km per kg of CNG, delivering up to 21kmpl on petrol mode.
The petrol-only (non-CNG) Hyryder’s base engine is also available with a six-speed automatic. The range-topping powertrain is Toyota's own 1.5-litre strong-hybrid unit paired with an e-CVT transmission.
While the top-spec features are missing from the S and G Hyryder CNG variants, they can be had with LED headlights, a nine-inch touchscreen, cruise control, a reverse parking camera, six airbags and hill-hold assist.
Toyota Hyryder To Become First Compact SUV To Offer CNG In India
Maruti Grand Vitara CNG Variants Launched At Rs 12.85 Lakh (ex-showroom)
The Toyota Hyryder CNG SUV’s only direct rival is its own platform cousin, the Grand Vitara CNG. The non-CNG variants of the two SUVs compete with the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq, VW Taigun and the MG Astor.
