Now gets a dual cylinder setup that frees up more space in the boot.
The CNG kit is available in two variants: Magna and Sportz.
Makes 69 PS and 95.2 Nm in CNG mode, available with a 5-speed manual only.
Carries a premium of Rs 97,000 and Rs 94,000 over respective Magna and Sportz petrol variants.
Comes at a price hike of Rs 7,000 over old prices of the same CNG variants.
Hyundai has been busy updating its CNG models over the past month. The Korean carmaker earlier updated the Exter CNG with the dual cylinder setup and now has done the same with its entry-level hatchback for India, the Grand i10 Nios. The updated i10 CNG now starts from Rs 7.75 lakh (ex-showroom), and will be available with the Magna and Sportz variants. The new setup helps in freeing up space in the boot to accommodate more luggage for longer journeys or your airport runs.
Variant |
New Price (ex-showroom) |
Old Price (ex-showroom) |
Magna |
Rs 7.75 lakh |
Rs 7.68 lakh |
Sportz |
Rs 8.30 lakh |
Rs 8.23 lakh |
As seen in the table above, prices for both variants have been increased by Rs 7,000. In comparison with the respective petrol variants, you will end up paying a premium of Rs 97,00 for the Magna variant and Rs 94,000 for the Sportz variant.
Even though there is an update to the cylinder setup, the output remains unchanged. The 1.2-litre NA petrol engine is paired with CNG, to produce 69PS and 95.2Nm in CNG mode. The powertrain is available only with a 5-speed manual transmission. In petrol mode, the engine has an output of 83 PS and 114 Nm.
Given that the CNG kit is available with the Magna and Sportz variants, you miss out on certain features available with the top-spec Asta variant. However, you still get an adequate list of features, including an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, rear AC vents, keyless entry, Android Auto and Apple Carplay, steering mounted audio controls, and 4 speakers.
