BMW Motorrad Race Helmet

After having given the world one of the finest superbikes in the form of the BMW S1000RR, the German company is now going to expand its range of motorcycle helmets with a helmet tailored to the needs of motorcycle racers. The BMW Race Helmet will be the latest addition to its 2013 BMW riding gear collection range and will cater to the needs of superbike riders.

In addition to wind tunnel tests and test rides, the new helmet was used during the IDM Superbike (German national championship) at the German Nürburgring. Professional racers Joerg Teuchert, Gareth Jones, Lucy Glockner and Irek Sikora from the 2012 Wilbers BMW Team as well as Arie Vos from the Van Zon Team used the helmet under real racing conditions for the first time. Their feedback will be used to further develop the helmet before it goes on sale in 2013. The Race Helmet will be sold alongside the existing BMW Sport Helmet.
