The Tata Curvv EV is the latest electric vehicle to join Tata’s all-electric lineup, and it’s only the second EV to be based on the Acti.ev platform. While we’ve driven the SUV-coupe and you can know about our impressions in the first drive review, we hadn’t had the chance to test its real-world performance until recently.
So in this story, we bring you the true acceleration and deceleration figures of the Tata Curvv EV. A quick look at its specifications before the performance test:

The Tata Curvv EV gets the option of two battery packs: 45kWh medium range and 55kWh long range.
We’ve tested the Curvv with the bigger battery pack, which comes paired to a 167PS/215Nm electric motor. That output number is the highest for any electric Tata, so let’s see how it translates into the real world.

8.87 seconds is a decent enough time for a family SUV coupe. Heck, it’s quicker than a few enthusiast favourite turbo-petrol sedans, but is just slightly slower than its smaller sibling, the Nexon EV.
The quarter mile was recorded in 16.67 seconds, while the 20-80kmph kickdown test took 5.50 seconds. The Tata Curvv EV stopped from 100kmph in a distance of 42.61 metres.
Tata retails the newly launched Curvv EV from Rs 17.49 lakh to Rs 21.99 lakh (ex-showroom). This puts it in contention with Mahindra XUV400, MG ZS EV and lower variants of the BYD Atto 3. It’ll also rival the upcoming Hyundai Creta EV.
