Tata Motors is set to take the wraps off the all-electric Punch EV tomorrow. It will be the carmaker’s fourth all-electric offering after the Tiago EV, Tigor EV and the popular Nexon EV. Apart from its biggest talking point, the electric powertrain, Tata Motors will also be making some cosmetic and feature enhancements to the electric micro SUV. Without further ado, here are 5 things you need to know about the upcoming 2024 Punch EV.
The Punch EV’s updated design will draw inspiration from the 2023 Nexon facelift. From the numerous spy shots, we can discern a reworked grille, potentially a full-width LED light bar, and new LED headlights. Additionally, new alloy wheels and connected LED tail lamps are expected to be part of the refresh.
Inside, earlier spy shots have hinted that the Punch EV will get a larger touchscreen infotainment system (likely to be the 10.25-inch unit) and the two-spoke steering wheel with the illuminated Tata logo. It will also get a rotary gear knob with an integrated display. You can also expect the interior to have varying colour schemes, as we have seen on Tata’s recent offerings.
The Punch EV is expected to be decked up with new features such as a 360-degree camera, electronic parking brake with auto hold, and a digital driver’s display. It could also get six airbags as hinted by this Bharat NCAP crash test image.
Features such as automatic climate control, a sunroof, wireless phone charger, cruise control, keyless entry with push-button start and electronic stability control should be carried forward from the ICE model.

Details about the Tata Punch EV’s specs remain undisclosed. However, based on the precedent set by other Tata EVs, you can expect both Standard and Long Range models. Positioned between the Tigor EV and Nexon EV, the base model might echo the Tigor EV’s specs, while the Long Range variant could resemble the specifications of the Nexon EV Medium Range.
For specifics, you can consider the specifications of the Tigor EV and the Medium Range version of the Nexon EV:

Tata Nexon EV Medium Range (Punch EV Long Range) |

The prices of the Punch EV, which we suspect may start from around Rs 12 lakh (ex-showroom) will likely be out later this month. It will lock horns with the Citroen eC3, while being a more affordable alternative to the Tata Tigor EV.
