Tata Motors is all set to launch the Punch EV on January 17, 2024. Pre-launch bookings are open and the vehicle has arrived at dealerships. The model will be offered in five broad trims, two powertrain options, and has additional features over the standard ICE-powered model. It also gets a different underpinning when compared to the Punch petrol.
In terms of design, the 2024 Tata Punch EV gets a redesigned fascia that is inspired by the Nexon EV. You get a blanked-off grille, full-width LED DRL as well as updated LED headlights and bumper. In profile, the Punch EV rolls on new alloys, while no major changes have been made to the rear.
Changes inside the Punch EV’s cabin come in the form of a new two-spoke steering wheel, a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and touch-based climate controls. It also comes with plenty of additional features the Punch petrol doesn’t get, details of which can be found here.
We also suspect Tata Motors may offer variant-wise themes inside the cabin like it did with its recent offerings.

Technical specifications of the Tata Punch EV are yet to be divulged. But we do know that it will be offered in Standard and Long Range options. Considering that its positioning is between the Tata Tigor EV and Tata Nexon EV, we suspect the base powertrain to mimic that of the sedan, while the top-end option could be similar to that of the Nexon EV Medium Range.
Here’s a look at the expected specifications:
Tata Tigor EV (Punch EV Standard) |
Tata Nexon EV Medium Range (Punch EV Long Range) |
|
Power And Torque |
75 PS/170 Nm |
129 PS/215 Nm |
Battery Pack |
26 kWh |
30 kWh |
ARAI-claimed range |
315 km |
325 km |
We suspect the Tata Punch EV may be priced from around the Rs 12 lakh (ex-showroom) mark. It will lock horns with the Citroen eC3, while being an SUV alternative to the Tata Tigor EV.
