After bringing in the ultra luxurious Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV to our shores, today, Mercedes-Benz has launched the standard version of the EQS SUV at Rs 1.41 crore (ex-showroom). It might not have the bling as its premium sibling, but regardless, comes packing a sleek design, a techy interior and enough luxury elements to keep you satisfied.
Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV: Exterior
The Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV has a classy and sleek design that focuses on aerodynamic efficiency.
The design is like any other typical Mercedes EV, with a large blacked out grille with tiny three-pointed stars dominating the face. This is flanked by a pair of LED headlights that are connected by a DRL strip. Then there’s the bumper, which gives the front-end a really minimalist and clean look.
In profile, it’s all about smooth lines and minimal elements. Like all new-gen Mercs, you get flush door handles that pop out and the alloy wheels design that looks classy. A bit of muscle can be seen over the rear wheels, which get a muscular haunch. The rear-end comes with a set of connected LED tail lamps.
Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV: Interior
If you’ve been inside one of Mercedes’ top tier EVs (probably the EQE SUV or EQS sedan), then this is a familiar place. It gets Mercedes’ Hyperscreen setup, which gets three screens – a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display, a 17.7-inch infotainment screen and a 12.3-inch co-driver’s entertainment display – underneath one single layer of glass.
Streaks of ambient lighting across the interior dials up the wow factor, especially during night. Also, the addition of wood inserts in the lower centre console gives it a proper luxurious feel. It also comes loaded to the brim with features, which is what we are going to talk about next.
Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV: Features Onboard
Apart from the aforementioned screens and ambient lighting, the Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV comes with multiple zones of climate control, a banging Burmester sound system, powered front seats, a head-up display and a powered tailgate. Passenger safety is taken care of by multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, front and rear parking sensors with a 360-degree camera and ADAS.

Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV: Powertrain Option
The Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV is offered in its flagship 580 4MATIC variant. Powering it are dual motors that belt out 544 PS and 858 Nm, sent to all four wheels. These motors draw power from a 122 kWh battery pack, helping the luxury SUV return a ARAI claimed range of 809 km. The luxury SUV supports fast charging capabilities up to 200 kW.
Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV: Rivals
The Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV locks horns with the BMW iX and the Audi Q8 e-tron.
