The Punch EV's design previews facelift ICE Punch design but with EV-specific design elements
It is expected to feature a larger infotainment system and new two-spoke steering wheel
Could be offered with two powertrain choices, including Medium Range and Long Range
Likely to carry a starting price tag of around Rs 12 lakh (ex-showroom)
Tata Motors' next EV, the Punch EV, has been under development for quite some time, and the Indian marque is conducting extensive testing. The upcoming EV, which will likely be unveiled later this year, has been spotted once again. And this time we got a clear view of the car's side and rear. Check out the spy shots.
The Tata Punch EV gets slight design alterations over the current model. It has been seen with a redesigned grille, modified bumpers with redesigned headlight housing, and other EV-specific elements like a full-width light bar. Additionally, it features new alloy wheels and rear disc brakes, which we had spotted in previous spy images.
At the rear, it could get a set of new connected LED tail lamps. The test mule features an exhaust pipe, but this is a dummy feature as the current Punch has a tailpipe design that’s hidden underneath the rear bumper. All these design revisions in the Punch EV preview the facelift for the ICE Punch.

We couldn’t get our hands on any interior cabin images but earlier spy shots revealed that the Punch EV could get a revamped interior with a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a new two-spoke steering wheel with illuminated Tata logo similar to the one on the recently launched Nexon EV.
Other features on the Punch EV could include a rotary gear selector, digital driver’s display, electronic parking brake, wireless phone charger, automatic climate control, and sunroof. It should also get up to 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, a tyre pressure monitoring system, and rear parking camera with sensors.
You can expect the Punch EV to be offered in two powertrain choices: Medium Range and Long Range. Since it will be positioned between the Tigor EV and Nexon EV Medium Range, the Punch Medium Range variant could feature the Tigor EV’s specs, while the Long Range variant will likely include the base-spec Nexon EV powertrain. This should provide the Punch EV with a claimed range of over 300km.

Tata Motors may reveal the Punch EV later this year, at a starting price tag of around Rs 12 lakh (ex-showroom). The Punch EV will be a direct rival to the Citroen eC3 and will be a premium alternative to models like Tata Tiago EV and Tigor EV.
