Just a week after declaring it on social media, Ather has now teased its upcoming electric scooter, the 450 Apex. People who have already ridden the Ather 450 Apex share their experiences in this video and it seems like the Apex is going to have some INCREDIBLE performance, even better than the 450X. For context, the 450X currently can do 0-40kmph in a claimed 3.3 seconds, and has a claimed top speed of 90kmph .

Now yes, there are scooters like the Ola S1 Pro which can do higher top speeds, but back when the 450X was introduced, its Warp mode was like nothing else on the market. And more importantly, going fast didn’t come at the cost of the battery overheating and the scooter shutting down. Hence, its reliability wasn’t compromised, and the scooter offered consistent performance in all conditions.
We expect the 450 Apex to have the same 3.7kWh battery pack, but the motor will likely be tuned to extract more performance than the 6.4kW peak power output in the 450X’ 3.7kWh variant. In terms of features, the 450 Apex might just get cruise control and at least single-channel ABS. A couple of weeks ago, Tarun Mehta (CEO of Ather) also said that transparent body panels will be making a comeback. So we wouldn’t be surprised if they're brought back in this upcoming scooter.

And this time by God, it won't be translucent only.

As for the cost, the 450 Apex could cost around Rs 1.60 lakh (ex-showroom Bengaluru, including FAME 2 subsidy), meaning a premium of Rs 10,000 over the current 3.7kWh variant. And finally, we might not have too much to get our hands on it, as the brand has already confirmed that the 450 Apex will be coming in early 2024. Its rivals will then include the Ola S1 Pro, Simple One and the TVS X.
