These two concepts aim to bring practical solutions in the last mile mobility segment however they are not confirmed for production yet.

Hyundai, in collaboration with TVS, showcased two futuristic e-rickshaw concepts at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. Designed as practical solutions for last-mile mobility, these concepts cater to various use cases, including medical emergencies, firefighting, and other specialized applications. Both the models won’t have a Hyundai moniker on them and neither have they been confirmed for production for now. But, let’s take a detailed look at both these concepts that look quite fascinating to the eyes.

How Do These E-Rickshaws Look?

Both the three-wheeler and four-wheeler models feature an angular design with sharp lines and a typical open rickshaw-like structure.

The front is adorned with a gloss-black screen that can display customizable messages like “Namaste,” adding a personalized and modern touch. The polygonal ORVMs further enhance the futuristic appeal.

How Is It Inside?

The interiors are thoughtfully crafted to combine functionality and comfort. Key highlights include upright seats with a mesh-like design and seatbelts for safety, along with a rear bench seat for passengers.

There are convenience additions like a first-aid kit at the rear, sanitizer dispensers, umbrella holders, and adjustable fans for rear passengers.

There are similar storage compartments in both the 3-wheel and 4-wheel models behind the steering wheel for essentials.

The two-spoke steering wheel features a minimalist four-dot design instead of a traditional brand logo. It is equipped with mounted controls for start/stop, indicators, and lighting, ensuring easy operation. A digital driver’s display offers key information for the driver’s convenience.

One of the standout features of the four-wheeler concept is its rear-end design, which opens to provide wheelchair access, emphasizing inclusivity. Both concepts are designed to serve as versatile mobility solutions for specialized needs, including healthcare and emergency services.

Purpose and Future Outlook

The e-rickshaw concepts are envisioned as last-mile mobility solutions, with potential use cases ranging from medical transport to firefighting. These are just concepts and neither Hyundai nor TVS have confirmed anything on the launch bit of these unique vehicles. Nevertheless, if we get to see them on roads later on it can prove to be sustainable, accessible, and practical transportation solutions.
