Bajaj has applied for the trademark of the names “Swing” and “Genie.” The application status says “Formalities Chk Pass,” which means the trademark submission has been authenticated. This move has been done to ensure that Bajaj can secure the rights to those names.
Going by the names, they are likely to be electric offerings, most likely electric scooters, which will be sold under the Chetak sub-brand. While Swing sounds like an electric scooter for private buyers, Genie might be a commercial electric scooter or perhaps even a three-wheeler. While these are the different probabilities, we’ll have to wait and see what Bajaj’s actual plans are with this trademark application.
In a related development, Bajaj had also filed a trademark for the name “Blade” back in March 2022. Here’s what it could be.
In other news, the Triumph-Bajaj Roadster and Scrambler will be globally unveiled on June 27, 2023, with an Indian launch on July 5, 2023.
