It looks like BMW is absolutely not in the mood to stop its series of new launches in India, seeing as how it is now going to introduce an M-Performance variant of its flagship electric sedan. Yes, the German luxury marque will launch the "M7" performance variant of the i7, which will be the most powerful electric BMW ever. Here's everything you need to know about the soon-to-be-launched BMW i7 M70.
The i7 xDrive sold in India already came with M-specific design cues. So the i7 M70 will sport all of those plus a few revisions like the 21-inch aerodynamic alloys. You also get “M” side elements on the front fender and ORVMs, while the rear bumper has also been tweaked ever so slightly.
There won’t be any new additions on the inside, as the i7 sold in India already came packing M-specific bits that can be found all around the cabin, such as a bespoke steering wheel.
Rest of the features such as the dual screen setup, including a 12.3-inch digital driver’s screen and a 14.9-inch infotainment system, heated and ventilated massaging seats, four-zone climate control, Bowers and Wilkins diamond surround system and soft-close doors will be retained from the regular i7. It will also get the massive 31.3-inch 8K screen at the rear, to pander to all the theatre needs.
BMW's most powerful flagship electric sedan will utilize a 101.7kWh battery pack, delivering a claimed WLTP range of up to 560km. This setup will be paired with an electric motor producing 660PS and 1100Nm, enabling the sedan to accelerate from 0 to 100kmph in 3.7 seconds. With such figures, the i7 M70 is rated for a top speed of 250kmph.
The BMW i7 M70 will be able to support up to 195kW DC fast charging, which can juice up the battery from 10 to 80 percent in 34 minutes. The sedan also comes with a support of 22kW AC charging which can rejuvenate the battery from 0 to 100 percent in around five and a half hours.
