The Suzuki eVX will be the carmaker’s first electric model for our markets, which is slated for an expected debut in 2025

  • Suzuki eVX prototype test mule spotted for the first time.
  • Features a chrome bar, muscular wheel arches, sloping roofline and connected tail lamps.
  • Interior gets dual connected screens and physical controls for AC.
  • Final specifications of the model are not out yet.
  • But the concept came with dual motors and a 60kWh battery, good for 550km claimed range.
  • The production-spec model is expected to debut in 2025.

First images of the Suzuki eVX prototype have surfaced online on international roads, giving us a clue of how the production model will look like. The eVX will be the carmaker’s first electric model and its concept debuted at the Auto Expo 2023. Its production-spec model is expected to be revealed in 2025.

The eVX concept is a Grand Vitara-sized electric SUV. And though the prototype is masked under heavy camouflage, we can still notice a couple of design touches. For instance, there seems to be a thick chrome bar that seems to connect makeshift LED headlights. Being an electric model, the portion below the chrome bar is likely to be closed off.

In profile, the eVX seems to feature smooth lines and a sloping roofline. The wheel arches and the haunch above the rear wheels add a dash of muscle and make it look beefy. And the rear door handles seem to be mounted next to the rear windows. Topping up the cake is the connected LED tail lamps while the number plates are mounted on the bumper.

These images also give us a first look at the eVX’s interior, which looks up to the times and unlike any other Maruti car’s interior. The centre of attraction are the dual integrated displays comprising the digital driver’s display and touchscreen infotainment system. We could also notice a set of physical controls for the AC and vertically stacked AC vents as well. The lower central console houses the gear lever and below it there’s a large storage area.

Now, the final specifications of the eVX are yet to be revealed. But the concept featured a 60kWh battery pack with a dual motor layout that’s good for a claimed range of 550km.

As mentioned above, the production-spec eVX will go on sale in 2025, and by the looks of this prototype, it looks like Suzuki will leave no stone unturned. At an expected price of around Rs 25 lakh, it will lock horns with the MG ZS EV, while being a premium alternative to Tata Nexon EV and Mahindra XUV400.
