Maruti Suzuki has officially teased its first-ever electric compact SUV, the e Vitara, which is set for an India debut at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Expo. The brand has always been known for its dominant foothold in the ICE-powered, CNG and even the hybrid car segments in India. Now, they are taking a step further into the EV segment with the eVitara, which is essentially the production-ready version of the eVX concept.
The marque is all set to showcase this electric SUV at what is India’s largest automotive event, the Bharat Mobility Global Expo, taking place in Delhi from January 17 to 22, 2025. Before we see the car in flesh next month, here are the details you should know about the upcoming electric Maruti on our shores:
Suzuki has already revealed the production-spec e Vitara in Milan, Italy. The front is bold, with sharp LED headlights and three-piece DRLs, an aggressively styled blacked-out bumper, and fog lamps in the lower section.
The profile showcases 18-inch blacked-out alloy wheels (19-inch with AWD), prominent body cladding and unconventional C-pillar-mounted rear door handles.
At the rear, sleek LED tail lights with a similar light signature as the DRLs, a shark fin antenna, and a roof-mounted spoiler complete its look.

The eVitara’s interior introduces a fresh, premium design with a dual-tone theme and a modern dashboard layout highlighted by dual integrated screens for infotainment and the digital driver’s display. You get to see newly designed vertical AC vents and a sporty two-spoke steering wheel.
Internationally, it is equipped with features like automatic climate control, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, a 360-degree camera, a head-up display, a wireless phone charger and connected car tech. For safety, it gets six standard airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, an electronic parking brake with auto-hold and level-2 ADAS. In fact, this could be the first Maruti car that could get ADAS on our shores as well.
The international-spec e Vitara gets multiple powertrain options in Europe:
