UPDATE: Tata Motors has launched the Punch EV from Rs 10.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Tata Punch EV will be offered with two battery pack options: a 25 kWh and a 35 kWh battery pack.
Both the battery packs have varying outputs for their electric motors.
Five broad trims include: Smart, Smart +, Adventure, Empowered, and Empowered +.
Bookings for the Punch EV are underway, with official launch on January 17, 2024.
Will rival the Citroen eC3.
Earlier, we provided you with a detailed first look at the Punch EV ahead of its launch, and now we have got hands on the powertrain specifications of the micro-SUV. Tata Motors is all set to launch the Punch EV on January 17, 2024 and if you are eyeing one, check out its detailed powertrain specifications prior to its launch.
We had earlier speculated that the Punch EV would be positioned between the Tigor EV and the Nexon EV, hence featuring specifications similar to the Tigor EV battery pack in the Standard Range variant while the Long Range model should get a powertrain similar to the base-spec Nexon EV battery.
Our speculations are almost on par as the entry-level variant of Punch EV packs a 25 kWh battery pack (the Tigor EV has a 26 kWh battery) while the top-spec features a 35 kWh battery pack (slightly larger than Nexon EV’s base’ 30 kWh unit). Check out the detailed powertrain specifications below.

The Tata Punch EV is available in two main variants: Standard Range and Long Range. You get to choose from five broad trims: Smart, Smart +, Adventure, Empowered, and Empowered +. The Standard Range variant is offered across all five trims of the Punch EV while the Long Range variant is offered from mid-spec Adventure trim onwards.
We expect the prices of the Tata Punch EV to start from Rs 12 lakh (ex-showroom). Bookings for the micro-SUV are underway, and the price announcement is scheduled for January 17, 2024. Its chief rival will be the Citroen eC3, and it will also be an alternative to the Tata Tigor EV.
