Tata Punch EV 2024 Review: More Than A Punch Electric | ZigAnalysis

The Tata Punch EV has been spotted once again on test, this time around with a handful of design changes. So it’s safe to assume that this particular test mule previews the facelift for the ICE version. The Punch EV will slot in between the Tigor EV and Nexon EV Prime in the carmaker’s lineup and is expected to break cover sometime in 2023.
Up front, the Tata Punch EV gets a reprofiled LED DRL that’s likely to be the full-width unit we saw on the Curvv. And the headlight units below it seem to have moved slightly upwards as well. Though not clear, the finishing on the air dam below the number plate housing also seems to have a slightly different finish. It was also having mirrors from the 2023 Harrier with a housing for the 360-degree camera system.
In profile, no major changes are seen on the sheet metal and overall silhouette of the SUV. But it does sport a new set of 5-spoke alloys that seem to be a tad larger. And as spotted earlier, the Punch EV gets rear disc brakes as well. There are no rear profile shots of this particular test mule to see what’s new in the back.
There are a handful of revisions made to the interior of the SUV as well. First and foremost is the new two-spoke steering wheel with the illuminated Tata logo that we will see in the 2024 Nexon as well. The infotainment system area has been masked, which leads us to speculate that it could be the newer 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
Other things the Punch EV would get is the rotary gear selector with a display from the Nexon EV Max, electronic parking brake, adjustable regenerative braking, a wireless phone charger and a sunroof. Also, with the upcoming six airbags mandate coming this October, the Punch could be offered with side and curtain airbags as well.
Specifications of the Tata Punch EV are yet to come to light. Like most Tata EVs, we suspect the Punch EV to get Standard and Long Range versions. Since this will slot between the Tigor EV and Nexon EV, we suspect the base-spec model could be similar to the sedan while the long range version could mimic the Nexon EV.

Prices of the Tata Punch EV are expected to range from Rs 12 lakh to Rs 16 lakh (ex-showroom). And while it won’t have any direct rivals, the electric Punch will be an alternative to models such as the Citroen eC3 and Tata Tigor EV.
