Indian cycle manufacturer, Firefox, has launched its first app-controlled electric bike for the Indian market, the Urban Eco. It's based on German technology, designed and conceptualised by e-Bike giant, HNF. All the features on the bike are controlled through the Firefox Fitt app. The Firefox Urban Eco, available in grey, is priced at Rs 74,999. You can book one via the company’s own website or through Paytm.
Customers can track their speed, distance covered, calories burnt, and heart rate through the Fitt app, helping you keep a close eye on your workout and riding style. You can also switch things up by toggling through five pedal assist modes depending on the terrain. This not only gives you more control over your pedal inputs but also helps you choose the motor intervention depending on your commute.

It's designed with city-specific ergonomics and geometry in mind, with flat handlebars, ergonomic grips and disc brakes at both ends for better stopping power. The bike also has a single power button for enhanced convenience during rides.
On the performance front, the Urban Eco packs a 10Ah battery, capable of offering up to 90km using pedal assist and a top speed of 25kmph using the throttle alone. It takes around five hours for a full charge. It competes with the Hero Lectro Electric C6, Toutche Electric Heileo M100 and the EMotorad T-Rex.
Overall, the Firefox Urban Eco looks like a promising new addition to the electric bike market in India thanks to its brand value and app-controlled features. With a decent range, the Urban Eco appears to be a solid choice for those looking for a premium electric bike in India.
