Here Are 9 Features That The MG Windsor EV Gets Over MG ZS EV

Despite being a lot more affordable, the Windsor EV still boasts more creature comforts over the ZS EV

MG recently launched their electric crossover, the Windsor EV in India with prices ranging between Rs 9.99 lakh to Rs 15.5 lakh (ex-showroom). It is the third electric offering from the car maker after the Comet EV and ZS EV and is packed with several best-in-segment features. It’s so feature loaded in fact that despite being more affordable than the ZS EV, it has a whole bunch of features that it offers over its more premium stablemate. We’ll have a look at that list, in this report.

Larger Touchscreen Infotainment Display

The MG Windsor EV has a 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment display which currently stands out compared to any of the other cars in the market. The ZS EV comes with a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment display, which comparably is of course smaller. Both the vehicles feature a connected car tech and have wireless connectivity for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

8.8-inch Digital Driver’s Display

The Windsor EV has outdone the more premium ZS EV clearly in terms of the displays. Just like the infotainment, it also has an 8.8-inch digital driver’s display that is larger than the 7-inch digital driver’s display offered in the ZS EV.

9-Speaker Infinity Sound System

The sound system adds to the entertainment and mood upliftment of the passengers. The Windsor EV offers you a 9-speaker Infinity sound system for the same. And while the ZS EV also comes packed with a premium JBL sound system, it has just 6 speakers.

Multi-colour Ambient Lighting

The Windsor EV offers 256-colour ambient lighting in its cabin which can be customised according to the passenger’s mood. Not only is the ambient lighting available on the dashboard, but it can also be found on the door panels. The ZS EV however has no ambient lighting in its cabin.

Ventilated Front-Row Seats

The Windsor EV has its driver and co-driver seats ventilated. The ZS EV does feature power-adjustable seats for the driver’s comfort, but ventilation? No, you have to compromise on that bit.

Lounge-like Reclining Rear Seats

When it comes to passenger comfort, the Windsor EV goes on to score another point over the ZS EV. And the comfort is not just limited to the front row. It has a 135-degree reclining rear seat that can provide lounge comfort and relaxation. The ZS EV misses on this.

All Window One Touch Up/Down Function

This is a feature that is shared by both the electric vehicles we’re talking about. However, the Windsor EV again scores a point here since it has all its windows getting the one-touch auto-up/down function. The ZS EV has just got this for the driver’s window.

Auto-dimming IRVM

The Windsor EV has auto-dimming IRVM while the ZS EV doesn’t. From the safety aspect, this is potentially an important convenience feature that helps the driver reduce glare from the high-beam headlights of other vehicles during night-time drives. You’ll have to manually adjust it in the ZS EV.

Telescopic Steering Adjustment

Talking about driver’s comfort, steering adjustment is an important aspect to look into. While both the cars have basic up and down (tilt) adjustments for the steering, the Windsor EV goes a step ahead of the ZS EV by offering a telescopic steering adjustment. So you can also adjust the steering closer or farther from you with this feature.
