2024 has been a busy year for BYD In India. The Chinese carmaker started the year with the launch of the Seal electric sedan and followed it up by updates to the Atto 3. It’s now expected to launch the e6 facelift soon in India. The updated e6 will get a host of revisions over the current model making it more appealing and an option to consider for the Indian buyers. Let’s take a look at what updates have been made to MPV.
Being a midlife refresh, the silhouette remains identical to the model sold currently in India, but gets a couple of cosmetic changes including new design elements. The LED headlights have been made sleeker now and feature revised internal lighting elements. Its LED DRL signatures have also been tweaked to give it a sharper appearance. The bumper now looks beefed up and houses larger air dams compared to the outgoing model. It now gets the fresh ‘BYD’ logo in the centre.
The alloy wheels now have a dapper design, and have a dual-tone finish. It still gets wraparound LED taillights but with updated internal elements and now features a tweaked rear bumper. There are some new chrome elements to the rear, but apart from these changes, there is nothing new with the facelift.
It is available in four different colours globally: Harbour Grey, Crystal White, Cosmos Black and Quartz Blue.
The cabin also features some updates over the model that's currently sold in India. For starters, you get a larger 12.8-inch rotating touchscreen infotainment system, replacing the 10.1-inch rotatable touchscreen. It sports a more modern steering wheel, but continues to get the conventional analogue dials along with the multi-information display. There are certain changes in the lower centre console as well, where the gear level and drive mode selector lever have been updated.

The international version is offered with 6- and 7-seater configurations and it would be interesting to see if these seating layouts will make its way to the Indian model which is currently a 5-seater.
In terms of features, it gets the aforementioned touchscreen, cruise control, a panoramic sunroof, a wireless phone charger, keyless entry, 360-degree camera, six-way power driver seats, ventilated front seats, multiple airbags, and ADAS features.
Internationally, the e6 is offered with a 55.4 kWh battery pack and a 71.8 kWh battery pack. With the smaller battery unit, it generates 163 PS, while it makes 204 PS with the larger unit. It offers an NEDC-claimed range of up to 530 km. The existing model of the e6 that is sold in India gets the 71.8 kWh battery pack.
The updated e6 is expected to come at a premium over the current model which is priced at Rs 29.15 lakh (ex-showroom). It has no direct rivals as such, but it is an electric alternative to the Toyota Innova Hycross.
