Gogoro has stepped into the Indian market with a pretty interesting strategy. Its comprehensive pilot programme will consist of testing out the B2B segment with the 2 Series e-scooter handled by the Zypp Electric fleet. Meanwhile, the SuperSport will be its B2C test product, and though the one displayed yesterday may not be the final product, this is what the company will be using for the pilot programme.
The Gogoro SuperSport has a very simple and elegant design. And if you notice closely, there are no screws or rivets, for the body panels are held together by strong magnets. It makes it easier to remove panels to fill up radiator fluid or do other repairs.
The pill-shaped LED light with the LED DRL surround is unmistakably Gogoro. This LED unit is flanked by compact LED indicators integrated neatly into the bodywork. Even the tail light is the same sleek unit that also houses the indicators.
The minimalist approach continues with the Gogoro Supersport’s instrument console as well. Its oval-shaped instrument console displays the basic details like battery percentage, range, clock, speedometer and ride mode.
The styling of the buttons goes with the overall aesthetics of the SuperSport. Through these buttons you can toggle through the four ride modes, set the cruise control or open the seat.
The Gogoro SuperSport gets a key card instead of a fob or a physical key. Placing the card on the reader unlocks the scooter.
The Gogoro SuperSport flaunts two swappable battery packs. With the swap stations you can simply change your depleted battery with a new one in just a few seconds.
Gogoro’s e-scooter gets a 25-litre underseat storage. This is not as good as the Ola S1 Pro or the TVS iQube ST, however, with the batteries taking up space, a fair amount of storage is reduced.
The Gogoro SuperSport is powered by a liquid-cooled mid-mounted motor producing 7.6 kW @ 3,000rpm and 28Nm @ 3,000rpm.
The Gogoro SuperSport features a telescopic fork and dual shock suspension setup. For braking, it gets disc brakes at both ends with a combined braking system. The variants available in foreign markets get ABS instead.
The Gogoro SuperSport may not come to Indian consumers but will play a pivotal role in deciding the company’s strategy for our market.
