The MG Comet EV is the most affordable four-wheeler EV in the market at the moment and the Pace trim is its most affordable trim. With a gap of Rs 1.3 lakh for the next best trim, it might feel like the Pace trim is too bare bones, but is that truly the case? Let’s find out with the help of these 6 images:
The top-spec MG Comet EV gets a set of LED headlights with a strap of connected LED tail lights above it. The Pace variant being the most affordable trim has been given a pass on both those things. Instead, it gets halogen headlights and just a plain strip spanning the width of the nose above it.
You won’t be able to spot any misses in its side profile because there aren’t any. It gets the standard 12-inch steel wheels with covers and some chrome garnish on the door handles and the strap leading to the ORVMs.
Just like at the front, the rear end of the base spec Comet EV’s base spec gets incandescent bulbs for the tail light unit, and the connected LED strip is just a reflector unit here. There is an EV badge to the left hand side, while the ‘internet inside’ badge found on its higher trims has been chucked from the boot as there’s a big difference on the inside.

Coming to the inside, the first thing you’ll notice is the amount of free space available around the dashboard’s central console area, and that is because of the missing infotainment unit. The digital driver’s display, which is smaller by 5.25-inches but also doubles up as a screen for the basic infotainment that packs bluetooth connectivity.
The buttons on the left spoke of the steering wheel have been deleted, but you still get a few on the right side to control the audio system and other functionalities. In contrast to the lighter themes offered in the higher trims, the Pace variant’s interior gets a black and grey interior theme. Other features include rear parking sensors, 2-speaker system and electrically adjustable ORVMs, while the safety kit includes dual front airbags, tyre pressure monitoring system, manual IRVM and ISOFIX child mounts.
The powertrain specifications of the MG Comet EV are uniform throughout its range as it gets a sole 17.3kWh battery pack that feeds a 42PS/110Nm electric motor. It is driven via the rear wheel only and offers a claimed range of 230km.
