When you look at it, the Tata Curvv EV hasn’t come a long way from being a concept to a production ready vehicle. It was a surprise when it was revealed back in 2022 and now, more than just two years later, we have a production ready version ready to hit the market on August 7. To be fair, the design was unique and appealing as a concept, and still is very much striking as it finds its true form. And that is exactly what we are going to discuss in this story - the design evolution of the Tata Curvv EV from concept to production form.
When the Curvv EV broke cover as a concept, it debuted Tata’s new “Less-Is-More'' design language. The concept and meaning of the design language was evident in the styling itself, which followed a minimalist route with smooth flowing lines.
In contrast, the production model looks rather busy at the front with the vertical inserts on the lower bumper. But the overall curvy shape has been retained and so has the connected LED DRL light bar, defining the bonnet line. Ofcourse, Tata changed those quirky triangular lighting elements to housings with the split LED headlights and fog lamps housed in them.
Things are really hard to differentiate in profile with the similar sloping roofline being retained. In fact, the wheel arches, cladding and even the alloy wheels, albeit a size smaller than the concept, are the same. What’s changed is the addition of proper ORVMs that replace those small cameras, and flush door handles, the latter a first for a Tata car.

The sleek LED light bar that runs across the boot lip has been retained and now sits on a slim piano black panel. The shape is still the same at the rear, and Tata has even retained the small split spoiler on the roof and added a shark fin antenna for more sportiness. Just like the front, you now get proper reversing and fog lights in the bumper, which was finished in a gloss black hue in the concept. That has been carried over with slight tweaks and a touch of silver on the bumper for some contrast.
Overall, we feel the Curvv is a striking looking car that carries most of its identities from when it was shown first.
While there might not have been a significant evolution in terms of exterior design, expect major changes over the cabin design seen on the concept. Now Tata hasn’t revealed the images of the Curvv’s production-ready cabin, but thanks to spied images, we can expect a similar design to the new Nexon and some cues from the Harrier and Safari as well.

The Tata Curvv EV will launch on August 7 and we expect the prices to start from around Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom).
It will rival the MG ZS EV as well as the upcoming Hyundai Creta EV and Maruti Suzuki eVX.
