Mahindra has just dropped two new all-electric SUVs, the BE 6e and XEV 9e, whose aesthetics, features and specifications stand up and go neck-to-neck with high-end SUVs from luxury carmakers. Introductory prices of the BE 6e start from Rs 18.90 lakh (ex-showroom), while those of the XEV 9e range from Rs 21.90 lakh (ex-showroom).

If you want to take a closer look at either of the EVs, you will have to wait a while, as both electric SUVs will reach Mahindra dealerships by the end of January 2025. So we won’t rule out a full launch at the upcoming Bharat Mobility Expo. And if you go ahead and reserve one, deliveries of the BE 6e and XEV 9e will begin between the end of February 2025 and March 2025.

Mahindra BE 6e

The primary difference between the two SUVs is that the BE 6e will be offered under Mahindra’s ‘Born Electric’ sub-brand, a division dedicated only to EVs, while the XEV 9e adorned the new infinity Mahindra logo.

Both feature an aggressive fascia. The XEV 9e gets inverted L-shaped LED DRLs, whereas the BE 6e stands out with C-shaped LED DRLs. Notably, the XEV 9e rides on the 19-inch alloys, the BE 6e on the other hand sports 20-inch alloy wheels for the top-spec variant. Their sporty appeal is further enhanced by design elements like the roof-mounted spoiler and shark fin antenna.

The smaller battery pack is coupled to a 231 PS electric motor, while the larger one is mated to a 286 PS electric motor. In addition to rear-wheel drive setup, both were also expected to be available with an all-wheel drive configuration, but the specifications or any details for it are yet to be revealed.
