With the recent introduction of the Tata Nexon EV Dark, the all-black treatment on Tata’s SUV lineup expands, following the Harrier, Safari, and standard Nexon. Priced at Rs 19.49 lakh (ex-showroom), the Dark edition of the Nexon EV is available exclusively with the top-of-the-line Empowered + Long Range variant. If you're eyeing one, here's a closer look at the Nexon EV Dark in 8 images.
The overall design of the Nexon EV Dark remains unchanged, except for the all-black treatment applied to the exterior, including the bumpers, ORVMs, and alloy wheels. Its front end is highlighted by the split-LED headlight setup and blacked-out skid plate. Additionally, the full width DRLs get welcome and goodbye functions, a feature introduced with the Nexon EV.
Coming on to the profile, this particular Nexon EV Dark at the dealership sports 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, which has a different 5-spoke design from the standard model. You'll also find ‘Dark’ badges on the front fenders. Additionally, it boasts blacked-out ORVM housings, contributing to the SUV's more aggressive appearance.

Turning our attention to the rear, the Nexon EV Dark's character is enhanced by an all-black rear bumper with a blacked-out skid plate. However, the 'Nexon EV' badge on the tailgate is finished in chrome, giving a dash of contrast.
The all-black theme extends into the cabin, with the entire interior, including the dashboard and door handles as well, finished in black. The sporty cabin theme is complemented by blue stitching on the seats and silver inserts on the AC vents and climate controls, along with illuminated Tata logo on the steering wheel.
In terms of features, the Nexon EV Dark comes equipped with a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, a 10.25-inch digital driver's display, a sunroof, ventilated front seats, a wireless phone charger, cruise control, keyless entry with push-button start, 9-speaker JBL sound system, and vehicle-to-load (V2L) and vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) charging technology.
On the safety front, it gets six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, 360-degree camera system, front and rear parking sensors, and a tyre pressure monitoring system.
The Nexon EV Dark is offered only with the larger 40.5 kWh battery pack coupled with a single electric motor, producing 145 PS and 215 Nm. It boasts a claimed range of 465 km and is fast-charging compatible, capable of charging from 10-80 percent in just 56 minutes using a 50 kW DC fast charger.
The Nexon EV Dark commands a premium of Rs 20,000 over the standard colour options of the electric SUV. It locks horns with the Mahindra XUV400 EV and serves as an affordable alternative to the MG ZS EV and Hyundai Kona Electric.
