The Hyundai Creta Electric is the new EV of the moment, and although no one expected it the way it dropped, it did garner an impressive response. It is made available in four broad variants, and pre-bookings for the electric iteration of one of India’s most loved SUVs are now open for three higher variants and one optional trim. That said, you can put your name down for one with a token amount of Rs 25,000, and if you’re eager to know more about the car beforehand, all its essentials are covered below.
The Creta Electric gets modest tweaks in its design compared to its ICE counterpart. It sports EV-specific design elements like a closed-off grille with a pixel pattern. The fascia has the charging port integrated neatly behind the logo. The bumpers are also redesigned with Active Air Flaps (AAF) to enhance aerodynamics and help maintain optimal cooling. The connected LED DRLs and vertically stacked headlights remain similar to the standard model.
From the side, the silhouette looks familiar to the ICE-powered Creta, complemented by 17-inch aero alloy wheels.
At the rear, the SUV adopts LED tail lights and a bumper styled with the signature pixel design, delivering a sharp and contemporary look.

The complete feature list of the Creta Electric is yet to be revealed, but some key highlights have been confirmed. It will include V2L (Vehicle to Load) technology, allowing users to power external loads using the vehicle’s battery, a digital key for locking, unlocking, and starting the car through a smartphone or smartwatch, and i-Pedal technology, which enables one-pedal driving for a smoother and more efficient experience.

Additionally, it will likely retain many features from the ICE-powered Creta, such as a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a matching 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, wireless phone charging, dual-zone climate control, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility, and a panoramic sunroof.
For safety, the Creta Electric is likely to be equipped with six airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), ISOFIX child seat mounts, a 360-degree camera and level-2 ADAS.
The Hyundai Creta features the smallest battery in the compact electric SUV segment with a 42 kWh unit which also has the least claimed range of 390 km. It also gets a bigger 51.4 kWh battery pack with a more impressive range of 473 km, both rated by ARAI.
The electric version of the popular Creta is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 kmph in just 7.9 seconds. Its battery supports DC fast charging, allowing it to recharge from 10% to 80% in only 58 minutes. It also gets an 11 kW AC wallbox home charger (HC) which charges the battery from 10 per cent to 100 per cent in just 4 hours.

It is worth noting that the base-spec trim is limited to the smaller battery pack only while the top-spec variant gets only the bigger unit. There is also an optional Smart variant made available with both setups.
