The electrified version of the popular Hyundai Creta has been revealed ahead of its launch on January 17, 2025, at the Auto Expo 2025. Ahead of its official launch, the Korean carmaker has uploaded a video revealing the necessary details of the Creta Electric. The electric iteration will be available in four variants: Executive, Smart, Premium and Excellence. It will be offered in 8 monotone and 2 dual-tone shades.
Here’s a look at everything we know so far about the upcoming electric SUV:
The silhouette of the electric iteration will be identical to that of the ICE version of the Creta and certain design elements will also be common between the two. However, the Creta Electric gets a few EV bits to set itself apart. The connected LED lighting elements up front and at the rear are similar to those of its ICE counterpart. Positioned below the connected headlights are vertically stacked LED headlamps. The Creta Electric sports a closed-off grille and aerodynamic 17-inch alloy wheels.
The electric SUV will be available in as many as 8 monotone colours and 2 dual-tone hues!
The electric Creta’s dashboard design and layout is likely to be similar to that of the ICE version. The electric SUV features a dual-screen setup and a dual-tone theme for the cabin. Overall, the vibe of the cabin will be very much similar to that of the ICE Creta, barring the minor tweaks here and there.
There won’t be any shortage or compromises in terms of the amenities on offer. The Creta Electric comes with a features list similar to that of the ICE Creta, which in itself is a very well-equipped SUV. Top expected features include a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, a wireless phone charger, dual-zone climate control, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and a panoramic sunroof. V2L functionality will be available with the Creta EV and features like multi-level regenerative braking are expected to be included.
In terms of safety, it could get six standard airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), a 360-degree camera, front and rear parking sensors, and level-2 ADAS.
The Creta electric will be available with two battery pack options: 42 kWh and 51.4 kWh. The former boasts a claimed range of up to 473 km, while the latter offers a range of 390 km, both rated by ARAI. The Creta Electric is capable of sprinting from 0-100 kmph in just 7.9 seconds. There are three drive modes on offer - Eco, Normal and Sport. It also comes with Active Air Flaps for better aerodynamics and battery cooling.
It supports rapid DC charging which juices up from 10 percent to 80 percent in 58 minutes. While using the AC home charging, it goes from 10 percent to 100 percent in 4 hours using an 11 kW Wall Box charger.
The Hyundai Creta Electric is expected to carry a price tag of around Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom). Once it has been launched, it will fight against the Tata Curvv EV, MG ZS EV, Mahindra BE 6 and the upcoming Maruti Suzuki e Vitara.
