Hyundai Creta EV to be launched in January 2025
Will get EV-specific styling elements to stand out from the standard Creta
Inside, it will get an ICE Creta-like interior, but with a few changes
Top features include a 10.25-inch infotainment, a panoramic sunroof, and ventilated front seats
We expect it to come with multiple battery pack options
The electric version of India’s most popular compact SUV, the Hyundai Creta, will be launched in January 2025. The Creta EV will accompany the Ioniq 5 in Hyundai’s electric vehicle lineup in India. The exterior and interior will be similar to that of the ICE Creta, but with a few different styling elements to set it apart from its counterpart.
Here’s what one can expect from the Creta EV:
The Creta EV’s design and silhouette will be similar to that of the Creta ICE which is on sale currently. However, the electric derivative of the Creta will get some of its own design elements to set it apart from the ICE model. Based on previous spy shots, we know that the Creta EV will get a fresh set of aero-specific alloy wheels, a blanked-off grille and likely, a tweaked bumper.
The interior of the Creta EV was spotted a while ago and it revealed an ICE Creta-like dashboard design and layout. However, to differentiate the interior, the electric model will be getting a three-spoke sterling wheel and a different beige-coloured colour scheme for the cabin. The EV version will also get the same 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, but it will be offered with EV-specific graphics.
Apart from the infotainment, it will likely get features such as Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a panoramic sunroof, a dual-zone climate control, a Bose sound system, ventilated front seats, keyless entry with push button start and a powered driver’s seat.
Passenger safety is expected to be taken care of by level-2 ADAS, six airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC, front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree camera, and electronic stability control.
There is no confirmation about the powertrain specifications of the Creta EV. However, we expect Hyundai to offer it with multiple motor and battery pack options. One can expect a claimed range of over 400 km with the Creta EV.
The Creta EV is expected to be priced around the Rs 20 lakh mark (ex-showroom). It will compete with electric SUVs like the Tata Curvv EV, MG ZS EV, Mahindra XUV400 and the upcoming Maruti eVX.
