The 2023 Tata Nexon EV facelift is launched in our market, at a starting price tag of Rs 14.74 lakh (ex-showroom). This refreshed model undergoes a comprehensive transformation, both inside and out. It is available in three distinct trims: Creative, Fearless and Empowered. For those considering the base-spec Creative+ variant, take a closer look at it in our image gallery.

The base-spec Creative+ variant maintains a similar appearance to its higher-level counterparts. It shares the same closed-off grille and split headlights. Although it includes LED headlights and DRLs, there are distinctions in the setup when compared to the other variants. For instance, the LED headlights are non-projector units, and quirky light functions like welcome/goodbye when locking/unlocking the car are limited to the higher variants only.
The Creative+ variant is equipped with 16-inch steel wheels as opposed to the alloys on higher-spec options. It also features body-coloured door handles and piano-black ORVMs with turn indicators.

Moving to the rear, you'll notice the connected LED tail lamps, but the centre strip isn’t illuminated and is limited to higher-end variant. Plus, sequential turn indicators and rear washer/wiper have been skipped here.
Tata offers the Nexon EV’s Creative+ variant in a choice of four paint shades: Pristine White, Flame Red, Daytona Grey and Creative Ocean (featured in images).
On the inside the Creative+ variant boasts black and blue seat upholstery theme which is exclusive to this trim as interior shades change as per the variant chosen. This trim includes a smaller 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system and digital driver’s display but includes illuminated Tata logo on steering wheel.

Key features of the base-spec variant include multi-drive modes, fully automatic climate control, follow-me headlamps, power windows for all doors, push-button start/stop, 12V power outlet at front and paddle shifters for regenerative braking. Bits such as cruise control and larger infotainment systems are limited to higher-end models.
Safety-wise, all variants come standard with ISOFIX child seat mounts, three-point seat belts for all passengers, six airbags, ESP, and rear parking sensors. Notable misses in the Creative+ variant in this section are rear defogger, electronic parking brake and auto vehicle hold.
The entry-level Creative+ variant is only offered with a smaller 30kWh battery pack, mated to a single 129PS electric motor, good for a claimed range of 325km. The Long Range option with a 143PS motor and 40.5kWh battery pack is limited to higher-end trims. This setup offers a claimed range of 465km.
The 2023 Tata Nexon EV’s Creative+ variant offers a compelling value proposition for first-time EV buyers, packing several essential features. Prices for the Creative variant start from Rs 14.74 lakh (ex-showroom). It rivals the Mahindra XUV400.
