The Hyundai Creta Electric has been revealed today, showcasing its SUV design, advanced technology, and sustainable performance. Carrying forward the legacy of the iconic Creta, this all-electric version promises to stir the Indian mass-market EV segment with its range, performance, and feature-loaded package. Prices for the all-electric Hyundai Creta are set to be announced at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Expo.
The Creta Electric stands out with a bold and modern design inspired by Hyundai’s global Pixel design style.
At the front, the fascia is similar to the Creta N Line, albeit with EV-specific tweaks such as a closed-off pixel-patterned grille. The built-in charging port is right behind the Hyundai logo and you get tweaked bumpers with Active Air Flaps (AAF) that not only add a stylish touch but also help improve aerodynamics while keeping the car cool.
However, the connected LED DRLs and vertically stacked headlights are similar to the standard car.
On the side, it looks very similar to the current Creta ICE while incorporating a few EV-specific bits like the 17-inch aero alloy wheels, which are designed to maximise range and efficiency.
At the back, the LED tail lights and bumper follow the same pixel design, giving the SUV a sharp appearance.
The Hyundai Creta Electric will be available in four variants: Executive, Smart, Premium and Excellence.
When it comes to colour options, the Hyundai Creta Electric offers an impressive palette of 10 striking exterior finishes, catering to a variety of tastes. These include eight monotones, three matte finishes, and two dual-tone schemes. The available shades are Abyss Black Pearl, Ocean Blue Metallic with a black roof, Ocean Blue Matte, Atlas White, Atlas White with a black roof, Titan Grey Matte, Fiery Red Pearl, Robust Emerald Matte, Starry Night, and Ocean Blue Metallic.
The Hyundai Creta Electric's interior design, which is yet to be fully revealed, is expected to closely resemble that of its ICE counterpart, with a familiar dashboard layout and a dual-tone theme for the cabin. A dual-screen setup adds a modern touch, while minor tweaks here and there differentiate it from the standard version.
When it comes to features, the Creta Electric looks loaded, offering a well-equipped package similar to the ICE variant. Key features likely include a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a matching 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, wireless phone charging, dual-zone climate control, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility, and a panoramic sunroof.
It is also equipped with V2L technology, which stands for Vehicle to Load, which basically allows the user to power external devices with the vehicle’s battery.
It also gets a digital key, which allows you to lock, unlock, and start the car using a smartphone or smartwatch, while i-Pedal technology enables one-pedal driving for a smoother, more efficient experience.
It also places a strong emphasis on safety, equipping drivers and passengers with a host of protective features. It would be equipped with six airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), ISOFIX child seat mounts, and a 360-degree camera to ensure maximum safety and visibility on the road. Moreover, the Creta Electric is expected to include Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), offering features like adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and more, enhancing both safety and driving convenience.
The Hyundai Creta Electric will come with two battery packs: 42kWh and 51 kWh. It offers a range of 473 km for the larger battery pack while the smaller battery pack offers a range of 390 km as per ARAI tests.
It offers charging flexibility to suit different needs. With rapid DC charging, the battery can go from 10 percent to 80 percent in just 58 minutes, making it convenient for quick top-ups during road trips or busy schedules. For home charging, the 11 kW AC wall box takes the battery from 10 percent to 100 percent in just 4 hours, ensuring a full charge overnight or between errands. This combination of fast and flexible charging options ensures the Creta Electric is always ready for the road.
While not much is revealed about the specifications, we know that the Hyundai Creta Electric can sprint from 0-100 kmph in just 7.9 seconds.
We expect more information like power and torque figures, motor output, etc. to be revealed near to its debut at the Auto Expo 2025.
The pricing for the Hyundai Creta Electric is yet to be announced but we expect it to be priced around Rs 20 lakh, which would ensure that it remains competitive within the Indian EV SUV segment. With the well-rounded package, it will compete with models like the MG ZS EV, the Tata Curvv, the upcoming Mahindra BE 6 and also the Maruti e Vitara, which is also expected to debut at the Auto Expo 2025, alongside the Hyundai Creta Electric.
