Indian summers can be pretty harsh. Recently, EV scooters have been feeling the heat and bursting into flames due to poor thermal management of batteries. With new videos floating around the internet almost every week, Matter, a technology startup that’s developing a two-wheeled EV, is also proposing a safer, more efficient, and reliable battery pack with integrated liquid cooling. Intriguing, no?
The MatterEnergy 1.0 battery pack is a unit that has been developed keeping India’s varied climatic conditions and geography in mind. Enclosed in a lightweight thermal-conductive metal casing, the unit will come ready with an integrated heat management system with active liquid cooling. Clever, but we wonder how it will impact the overall weight of the battery pack. The unit is IP67 rated and with integrated sensors for better battery management, Matter claims it will be a good mate for performance-focused electric two-wheelers. We have written to the brand to get more clarity on variables such as the weight of the unit, voltage figures, proposed range, charging time, and fast-charging capabilities. We will update this story with more details as and when we hear back from them.
The MatterEnergy 1.0 battery pack will be first featured in its upcoming electric two-wheeler that is slated for a launch this year. The EV will likely be a performance based offering to complement the battery pack.
