Delhi RTO document hints at a 136PS electric motor and is reported to get a 40kWh battery pack.
Spy images reveal different alloy wheels, and rear disc brakes.
Likely to gain features such as auto-dimming IRVM, ventilated front seats, and an air purifier from the ICE Kaziranga Edition model.
Should still remain a cheaper alternative to the MG ZS EV and Hyundai Kona Electric.
After a long period of spotting it testing, we finally have a launch date. Tata Motors has revealed that the longer range Nexon EV that they’ve been working on will launch on May 11. Aside from offering more range, the carmaker is set to add a few more enhancements to the electric SUV as seen in recent spy images.
The main change will of course be to its electric powertrain, A more powerful 136PS electric motor was hinted via a Delhi RTO document, and its reportedly set to be juiced up by a larger 40kWh battery pack. Spy images also revealed rear disc brakes which should improve stopping power. The current setup is a 129PS electric motor, and a 30.2kWh battery pack helping the Nexon EV offer a 312km ARAI-claimed range.
While we’ve only seen the upgraded Nexon in camouflage, the most visual change will be for the alloy wheels, which sport a different design. Aside from this, we only expect subtle styling changes on the outside.
The cabin will most likely look largely unchanged aside from new seat upholstery, but we think Tata will add some additional features. They could include auto-dimming IRVM, an air purifier, and ventilated front seats from the ICE Kaziranga Edition model, and possibly cruise control and ESC.

The longer range Tata Nexon EV will likely be sold alongside the standard range model, but at a price premium. It should still remain a cheaper alternative to the MG ZS EV and Hyundai Kona Electric despite the higher pricing.
