Mahindra recently launched the BE 6 SUV at RS 18.9 lakh (ex-showroom). It has been in the news for good reasons (mostly) and its attractive design, quirky and feature-loaded cabin and powerful powertrains have stood out among its rivals. The BE 6 offers a lot of power and grunt, but does it handle well over tight corners, and how does it ride? Let’s find out:
Before getting to the crux of this story, first, let’s take a look at what propels the eye-catching SUV and its specifications:

As you can see above, the BE 6 packs a mighty powerful motor that is capable of giving a tough fight to cars that are much more expensive. With the 79 kWh variant, the BE actually manages to clock a 0-100 kmph time of just 6.7 seconds.
The Mahindra BE 6 features a light steering which does feel heavier at higher speed. The stylish SUV’s ride quality is slightly towards the firmer side, but not to such an extent that it will make you feel uncomfortable. The SUV feels comfortable on well-paved roads, but you will experience some side-to-side tossing when riding through uneven roads. While the optional 20-inch wheels might seem tempting, the 19-inch wheels will offer a smoother ride.
The good thing is that things feel controlled over sharp bumps and potholes. The suspension setup has been well-tuned and doesn’t crash over bad roads or get too noisy over potholes.
To complement the fairly impressive ride comfort, there is good noise insulation making sure that the sounds of the outside don’t interrupt you inside too much. The BE 6 is fast and it not only reaches the three-figure mark in a blistering quick time but also feels composed while achieving it.
The Mahindra BE 6 is priced from Rs 18.9 lakh and Rs 26.9 lakh (ex-showroom). It competes with the likes of the Tata Curvv EV, MG ZS EV, Hyundai Creta Electric, and Maruti e Vitara.
In short, the BE 6 is an SUV that ensures praiseworthy comfort for most parts and credit also has to be to its impressive noise insulation. It is a fast SUV, and it enables you to go fast in a composed manner. It is a car that you can have fun with when you want to, but also easily and smoothly cruise in it with your family.
