While one looks like a conventionally styled SUV with EV-specific design elements, the other one looks like something that has come out of the future!

Mahindra has partially launched the BE 6, which is the brand’s first born electric SUV and Hyundai has revealed the Creta Electric ahead of its launch at the Auto Expo 2025. Design is subjective to every individual, and these SUVs are poles apart in the way they are styled. The Creta Electric features a familiar and understated design when compared to the BE 6 which looks completely unique and unlike any of the conventionally styled SUVs.

In this report, we break down the details of their design giving you a better understanding of how their design differs from each other:

Mahindra BE 6 Vs Hyundai Creta Electric: Design

The BE 6 and Creta Electric's overall designs have a completely different appeal and vibe to them. The Hyundai EV takes the more conventional and sober approach, while the Mahindra EV takes the bolder and more aggressive way out.

Up front, the Creta Electric’s face looks similar to its ICE counterpart thanks to the connected LED headlights and the design of the lights. The BE 6’s fascia looks like that of an angry animal (imagine seeing it in your rearview mirror). It gets C-shaped LED DRLs surrounding the LED headlamps and placed above the LED fog lamps. The Creta’s Hyundai logo opens up as the charging port and you also get a closed-off grille. In the BE 6, you get plenty of sharp cuts and creases on the bonnet and the main highlight is the gloss black finish giving it a stealthy look, especially if you opt for it in the black hue.

Both SUVs get aerodynamic alloy wheels (17-inch on the Creta and optional 20-inch on the BE 6). The BE 6 boasts a slightly sloping roofline which will make it stand out among the conventionally styled SUVs and the Creta, on the other hand, has a more traditional and familiar look. The BE 6 gets more aggressively styled wheel arches finished in piano black. The Mahindra SUV also gets flush door handles (front door), while the Creta EV gets regular door handles.

Coming to the rear, the BE 6 gets large C-shaped LED tail lights and its sloping roofline merges nearly into the tailgate. The Creta Electric, on the other hand, features connected LED tail lights. One of them gets a split roof spoiler while the other gets a regular spoiler (which one got which? I think you might have guessed it by now). The Creta further gets a shark fin antenna as well to dial up the sportiness. The Korean SUV gets a silver skid plate, while the BE 6 features a gloss black treatment which compliments the overall look of the SUV.

The BE 6 is available in 5 hues: Desert Myst, Everest White, Tango Red, Firestorm Orange, and Napoli Black.
