The spied model retains a lot of design elements from the Mahindra BE.05 Concept.
The BE.05 was showcased in August 2022.
The INGLO platform supports both rear-wheel-drive (RWD) and all-wheel-drive (AWD) configurations.
Mahindra BE.05 could be launched towards the end of 2025, and is expected to be priced from Rs 24 lakh.
There might not be any new launches lined up from Mahindra for 2023, but the automaker is certainly not sitting idly. Spy shots have surfaced online of what appears to be the Mahindra BE.05, the smallest electric SUV concept showcased as part of the brand’s upcoming line of dedicated EVs. Here’s what we could make out from those pictures:
From the initial glance, it is evident that the camouflaged Mahindra BE.05 test mule retains several design elements from its concept form. Details like the C-shaped LED DRL, sharp cuts on the hood, and curves resemble the original concept and are unique to the new Mahindra Born Electric range.
It features squared off wheel arches; however, the design of the alloy wheel is different, and the ORVMs have a traditional design and are different from the camera-integrated ones shown on the concept.
Based on the concept, the BE.05 will have a driver centric cabin, featuring a panoramic integrated display (for the infotainment and the instrument cluster). It also featured a modern looking squared off two spoke steering wheel with BE branding in the middle. The concept also features an aero-styled gear selector, along with a rotary dial for drive modes behind it.

The new Mahindra EVs will be based on the INGLO modular platform and will use components from the VW MEB platform including battery and motor. As a smaller offering, the Mahindra BE.05 is expected to use a 60kWh battery pack with an expected WLTP-claimed range of over 300km. It is expected to support a DC fast charging of up to 175kW, which can juice up the battery from 0 to 80 percent in 30 minutes.
The INGLO platform will support both rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive configurations, with power output of up to 285PS for RWD and 394PS for AWD models. However, the BE.05 is likely to offer a lower output as a compact electric SUV offering.
Mahindra BE.05 is expected to be launched towards the end of 2025 and will rival the MG ZS EV, and the upcoming Hyundai Creta EV and Tata Harrier EV. It could be priced from Rs 24 lakh (ex-showroom) onwards. Prior to the launch of BE.05, we could see an all electric version of the XUV700, called XUV e8, by December 2024. Mahindra’s future plans also include the XUV e9 (coupe-styled e8), the BE.07 and BE.09.
