Mahindra will reveal its Born Electric range of next-generation concept electric vehicles (EVs) on August 15. Based on a new dedicated electric platform, the five Born Electric SUVs sport distinct body styles and seem to span multiple segments.
It seems that three of the upcoming concepts are coupe-SUVs, including one with a fastback roofline that we haven’t seen in previous Born Electric teasers. Apart from the coupe-SUVs, the other two EVs feature a more conventional silhouette with an upright tailgate.
The Born EVs feature a new, shared design language with C-shaped headlights and taillights. Inside, they’ll get a dual-screen panel for infotainment and driver’s displays, a panoramic glass roof and ambient lighting, among other features that we’ll discover on August 15.
Earlier this year, Mahindra had announced its partnership with Volkswagen to jointly develop the new platform for the Born EVs using components from VW’s MEB electric platform. We expect the SUVs to feature two-wheel drive and all-wheel drive powertrains.
